It is important that the web development process is clear and allows everyone to work together in the most productive way. Below is a description of the key stages we will work through with you during the development process. Understanding style of website required. Clarifying the target audience of the website. Agreeing the main navigation pages. Obtaining images. A mock-up will be produced for client consideration – usually 3/4 weeks after receiving images. Once the mock-up has been approved, we will produce the website template and/or resubmit the mock-up. We will add the content already to hand. The content management system will be added so you have control of the content. Tests will be performed – technically and functionally The website will then be loaded to the main server so effectively it goes live. The website will be submitted to the major search engines and directories. Firstly we'll work with you to find out what it is you need from your website. This will include what the business objectives for the website are, who visitors to your website will be and what you want them to be able to do online, how the website should look in terms of existing branding or the image and style you want to portray and any technical requirements you may have. Content Once we have your requirements we can look at what content will need to go on your website e.g. text, images, downloads. The content is often defined what you need to communicate your message to visitors and prompt them to take the action you want. Structure and Navigation Now we know what the content is going to be we can start to structure it and decide what navigation and pages are needed and how they should be grouped and linked together. Design The design stage may begin before the structure has been finalised but once this has happened and we know what pages there will be and what will be on them we can finally give you an idea of what the finished website will look like. Build and Launch Once we have all the content and have finalised the structure and design we can begin to build the pages of your website. |
